The Variety Group

Our Founder:

Our founder Marquell Byrd is a producer and production mentor who moved from Virginia to New York City at the age of 18. Marquell has been in the industry working in and around music and film production for many years. While being in the industry he believed that God and production saved his life and it was something he wanted to give back to his community and one way to do that was to educate high school students through music and film. As he developed his skills and relationship with the community he had the opportunity to build recording studios and multimedia rooms for different schools and organizations and soon realized the importance of production was needed in all aspects of education. He currently has been developing films, and teaches the youth, the importance of production through a program called ColorX which focuses on film and music production.

The Variety Group:

The Variety Group provides schools and organizations media production services for events, graduations, video trainings, podcasts, and social media.

ColorX:

Production mentorship services through our partner organization Color Compton which allows us the opportunity to teach the youth, Film and Music production.
